Following on from the British Book Awards winner, "Queenie", we shift gear slightly for our next meeting when we will be discussing Sarah Waters' "The Little Stranger".
Not quite like some of Sarah Waters’ other romps!
One post-war summer at home in rural Warwickshire, Dr Faraday, the son of a maid who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country physician, is called to a patient at lonely Hundreds Hall.
Little does Dr Faraday know how closely, and how terrifyingly, his story is about to become intimately entwined with that of his new patient.
'Displaying her remarkable flair for period evocation, Waters recreates backwater Britain just after the Second World War with atmospheric immediacy ... Acute and absorbing' Peter Kemp, Sunday Times
Make a date in your diary, settle down with a glass of something and note the new time – for a great discussion!
